The following is a list of frequently asked questions about the Singles Supper Club. If you can't find the answer to your questions, feel free to contact us.
What type of people will I be dining with? SSC members range in age from late 20's to 65, with most members being between the ages of 35-55. Our membership is well educated, successful, and draws from many professions and interests. At the events open to all age groups, members are seated with other members in their same age range - with either late 20's to early 40's, or with the 40+ age group. What should I wear to the dinner events? Dress comfortably, but nice (a dinner jacket for guys, nice office wear for women). When dressier attire is appropriate, it is specified for the event. How many people attend each dinner? The number of people dining at the dinner events varies, depending on how many people have reserved for that specific dinner. The number can range from 8 to over 50 at the dinner/dance parties, with the average being about 24. What will the dinners cost? Besides paying the affordable annual membership fee, each dinner has a cost associated with it, which is specified for each event. Can you contact someone for me after an event? Yes, if you didn't have a chance to get someone's contact information, send an email message to the person through SSC. SSC will forward the message to the individual. For your complete privacy, permission from both parties is always requested before any information is released. How are the restaurants chosen? We research good local restaurants, from San Francisco all the way down the Peninsula to the South Bay, that offer an interesting selection of menu choices and are reasonably priced. If you have a suggestion, we would be happy to try it out in advance to be included as a future dinner event. What are the privileges of membership in the Single Supper Club/Single Gourmet?
Can non-members participate with SSC? SSC events are for SSC members exclusively. There are no exceptions. How do I make a reservation? Every month we send our members a newsletter, which details the events for that month. Call or email in your reservation along with your choice of entrée, if applicable. Most members give SSC a credit card number which is used to charge events. You may also send a check. Indicate your method of payment when you make a reservation. When sending a check, a credit card number may be requested to guarantee your reservation. Once reservations are paid, all you have to do is show up at the appointed time and place, and have fun! What happens if I need to cancel a reservation? Cancellations up to five days before the event are accepted without charge and a credit is applied to your account with us for the full amount. Thereafter, a $5.00 service charge is assessed and the balance is credited to your account. If a cancellation is made two or fewer days before an event, and a replacement cannot be located, total forteiture of your payment could occur. No-shows forfeit the full event fee. Can SSC accommodate special diets? If you are a vegetarian or have food allergies, alert the staff when you make your reservation and alternative dishes will be arranged. Sounds fun! How do I join?
