Success Stories CONGRATULATIONS MARIA AND MEHRDAD My name is Mehrdad and my wife is Maria. We met at a SSC dance at La Hacienda in Los Gatos in 2000. It was 6:30 when I arrived to get warmed up for dancing and socializing. I talked and danced with a few nice ladies except one. I tried to go and ask her but for some reason I got pulled away or interrupted. There were only 20 minutes left before the end of the event when I finally managed to talk to this wonderful lady. Her back was to me. While I was walking toward her I put my left hand on her right shoulder and posed in a gesture of dancing. After she accepted my invitation, when she turned around and looked at me, we both found love at first sight. It was a great moment and we enjoyed every minute being together. But this is not the end of the story. An old female friend showed up, she wanted to talk to me because her dad was sick. Since the event was almost over, she suggested we go to a nearby bar in Los Gatos. I told Maria that she was more than welcome to join us. She asked me to ask the friend who drove her to see whether she was interested. She said that maybe they would join us. At that point I thought that they would not show up. My friend and I went to the bar to have a conversation. It was pretty quiet at that place so I suggested that we go to a bar in Menlo Park, called the BBC. On the way to Menlo we stopped at a gas station. There I saw these two ladies asking for directions. I couldn't believe it. There was Maria and her friend. That's what I call fate. I asked them to join us in Menlo Park and they followed me. I got a chance to dance a bit more with Maria and to know her better. From there we kept in touch and the rest is history. We hope you like our story. Thank you for providing us with such a great club. Best Regards, Mehrdad MEET YOUR HONEY AT A SSC DANCE PARTY Last fall, Tracey, 38, came to a SSC dance party. Like most other attendees, meeting someone special was paramount on her mind. Tracey and Larry, 42, shared a few fun dances but never really connected after that. Six months later she made her way to another SSC dance party at the same venue. All was about to change. With whom did Tracey dance the night away that second evening? Larry. Four months and many dates later, the couple is still a very hot item. In hindsight Tracey recalls only one significant difference between the two events--her own attitude. On the second evening Tracey went to the dance just to have fun. The point is not that she lowered her expectations but that she took the pressure off herself to make something special happen. And this lightening up , as we all know, is utterly irresistible to the opposite sex. As for the future, any plans for the happy couple? Outlook very good. MORE GOOD NEWS Just before going to print, we received a card from Bobbi and Don announcing their marriage. They wrote, "We just wanted to thank you for the wonderful service you do in the Singles Supper Club. Don and I met at a function you had about 2 1/2 years ago. We were married this summer. We are soul mates and so extremely happy. Thank You!" Best Wishes and thank you for letting us know the good news. SSC will try to learn more about Bobbi and Don's romance and the words of wisdom they may have for us. Stay tuned.
